ART & CRAFT

Material Required

  • Colored paper (construction paper, magazines, old newspapers, or tissue paper)
  • A thick sheet of paper or cardboard (as the base)
  • Glue stick or liquid glue
  • Scissors (optional, but tearing by hand is recommended)
  • Pencil (for sketching a rough design)
  • Paintbrush (for spreading glue, if needed)

Steps

1: Choose a Theme

  • Decide on a subject for the collage (e.g., landscapes, animals, flowers, abstract designs).
  • You can sketch a light outline of the design on the base paper if needed.

 2: Tear the Paper

  • Use your fingers to tear colored paper into different sizes and shapes.
  • For a textured effect, try tearing in different directions or layering pieces.

 3: Arrange the Pieces

  • Place the torn pieces onto the base paper without gluing them at first to get an idea of the composition.
  • Overlap some pieces for a natural, layered look.

4: Start Gluing

  • Apply glue to the back of each torn piece and press it onto the base paper.
  • Work in sections to prevent the glue from drying out too quickly.
  • Use a paintbrush to spread glue evenly if using liquid glue.

 5: Add Final Details

  • Once the base collage is complete, add small details with additional torn paper.
  • Layer smaller pieces to create depth and highlights.

6: Let It Dry

  • Allow the collage to dry completely before moving or displaying it.

Extra Info (if any)
